Solo project
The All-Seeing Eye was an immersive installation I created for my study Communication & Multimedia Design. Visitors enter the installation and discover through the instructions that it’s possible to scan the posters with their smartphones. This action opens a webpage imitating their phone coming to life. Their phone starts talking to them and so the quest begins…
Their phone explains that it has a secret it wants to share. But the only way to share this secret, is by scanning every QR-code and follow the phone’s instructions. The installation was filled with these hidden codes in posters on walls and footprints on the floor. You must look hard and closely to find the camouflaged QR-code, but your smartphone recognizes it in less than a second.
During the quest, visitors discover more about the mysterious message the phone wants to share and in the end, they are made aware of a privacy issue affecting them in the real world: big data companies tracking every single step you make.
